LIBRARY: A harmonized procedure for identifying fire risk in ten study areas
The RES2FIRE project has developed a harmonized procedure for identifying fire risk in ten study areas in six European countries within the IPA ADRION region. Using common geographic datasets and taking into account environmental variability, the method ensures comparable risk assessments across all sites. This promotes better resource allocation and allows the procedure to be exported to other Mediterranean regions with similar conditions. In addition, the ecological value of protected areas was assessed to determine their ecological vulnerability, which, combined with human vulnerability, will provide useful information for the creation of fire risk maps.
