LIBRARY: Fire hazard and fire risk: a transnational model for Mediterranean countries

At the conclusion of WP1 activities, an important first output was achieved. This consists in the identification of general-purpose functional models that allow fire hazard and fire risk to be easily assessed across all areas of the Adriatic–Ionian Macroregion, thus also acquiring a transnational relevance.
A simple procedure that can be applied to other Mediterranean countries with similar environmental characteristics. The developed models, highly replicable, make it possible not only to assess current fire hazard and fire risk conditions, but also to evaluate how fire hazard is expected to change up to 2100 under future climate change projections.
Stakeholders will therefore have access to useful tools to support wildfire prevention and management activities, as well as to plan and implement future mitigation strategies. Do you want learn more? Click here to download the “Output 1.1. Methodology for mapping fire hazard and fire risk”.
